Don't Let Pain Win!

Dr. Kerry Severin

My dear fiends and patients. I would like to let all of you know that my  wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary back in June!!! It  honestly doesn't seem like 35 years, but after the grand kids have been  with us for a couple of days it certainly does.
My wife and I are  still going to quite a few medical appointments for her follow up breast  cancer care. Without fail, with every new doctor or doctors staff member  that we meet, we are asked the same question, how long have  you been married ( because of the way we joke around and show affection  for each other) and they are always very surprised to find out it's been 35 years. I take it as a compliment. We sincerely try to keep the  marriage alive and active, but we are human and some days are easier  than others. None the less, I explain to the doctors that I still chase  my wife around the house, but that now and then I have to stop and let  her catch her breath. A very small price to pay to still have my wife  with me. Or as she so eloquently puts it, "I'm still on this side of the  dirt".
Unfortunately, there have been some people that have decided  to spread some very horrible lies that Cindy and I were divorced and  that I had been very unloving to her ( that is putting it mild compared  to what this particular person chose to say ).  I can assure you that  Cindy and I have never been divorced and that I have never been married  to anyone else AND that I have always treated my wife with love and  respect. Sadly, There was a doctor that was in practice in this area  that did have some home problems and has since passed on. It is unfortunate that  there are grown adults that never left middle school and take no  responsibility for their actions by spreading hurtful un-truths about others. In Gods  word, the Bible speaks of gossip as being very horrible. That being  said, I thank our Lord for the people that know Cindy and I and that they know  our dedication to each other and our community. It is so reassuring to  know that we are loved and appreciated.
In the Lords Prayer, Jesus said  ,"...forgive us our trespasses as we for give those that have trespassed  against us". So, this I do, and I pray that the Holy Spirit  will  convict these people and free them from the hate that they live in and  lovingly bring them back into relationship with our Lord.
May Our Lord Jesus Christ bless all who read this and their families too.

Amen
